Travel

To Stockholm (by air): If you choose to fly, we recommend that you fly to Arlanda Airport which has easy transport links to Stockholm Central (Skavsta Airport is soo far away!)

From the airport: Arlanda Express train is the fastest way to get to and from the airport, plus it is environmentally friendly!

Getting around Stockholm: Stockholm isn’t very big so walking is always a great idea, otherwise there are tubes where you can tap in using your card

Hotels: Here are two recommendations to make it easier for those that don’t enjoy the research process, but feel free to choose your own place – Stockholm has plenty to offer!

Scandic Continental

Located by the Central Station, Scandic Continental has good prices and a rooftop bar with great vibes.

Bank Hotel

Located 15-20 mins walk away from the Central Station, Bank hotel is the more pricier option of the two and also enjoys a rooftop bar with great views. Rich, aka father of the groom, has worked his magic to score you a sweet deal of 15% off.

Things to do

Welcome to Sweden! Our family and friends have spilled their top-secret tips on how to make the most of your time here. We can’t wait for you to explore our second home!

When in Sweden, fika is a must! It is every swedes favourite time of the day, where we take a pause from the day with a cup of coffee and cake. You can grab a fika anywhere around town, but here are some special tips:

Mr Cake: A modern café with delicious cakes. It’s owned by a Swedish celeb-baker

Tössebageriet: A more traditional classic café

Rosendals tradgard: A garden café surrounded by beautiful nature

Grus Grus winebar: Mother of the bride’s favorite place to nip in for a glass of wine and some people watching

Mosebacketerassen: Grab a drink on the very chilled outdoor terrace with beautiful views of Stockholm

TAK: Restaurant and rooftop bar with a great atmosphere

Hernö Gin Bar: Laidback bar serving gin from the Swedish distillery Hernö. The place also served food with a scandi touch + has gin tasting!

Freyja takbar: Another rooftop bar with another great view of Stockholm

A few places on our list that we haven’t had a chance to visit yet: Solen, APO (Asian post office), Chipron, Canta Lola, Urban Deli, Bar a Vins, Ulla Winbladh, Tennstopet

Skansen: The Scandinavian zoo of Stockholm. Jack’s favorite bit is the exit, however Amanda’s personal highlights includes saying hi to the moose, watching the seals, and enjoying waffle at the cafe

Gamla stan: The old town is a real hotspot for tourists, nevertheless it is beautiful and has the royal castle and parliament as neighbors

Fotografiska: A contemporary museum of photography, art & culture. Past exhibitions include work from iconc Annie Leibovitz, Andy Warhol, and Nick Brandt. At the top floor you can also grab a fika or some food with beautiful views. Check out their website to see what’s on when you’re in town.

Svenskt Tenn: A Swedish classic interior design company that has its flagship store on the beautiful shoreline boulevard of Strandvägen. It is a must-visit if you like interior design!

Nordiska galleriet: Another favourite interior store, which has a more trendy offering.

Fjaderholmarna: Stockholm has an archipelago made up of 1000s of islands, with one of them being only a 20 minutes boat ride away. This little island will give you the proper Swedish summer experience!

If you want to workout you can rent canoes, go for a run or walk  around djurgarden like a true ‘Stockholmare’, or pop by Barry’s (tip: If you got ClassPass, it works in Stockholm too)

Other tips: Sky view Globen, Hornsgatspuckeln – art and silversmiths, Abba museum, Moderna museum, Nationalmuseum, Thielska gallery, Stockholm castle, Grand Hotel

If you’re planning to explore for more days let us know if you want tips outside of Stockholm!

Questions about the day?

Transport will collect you from Strandvägen kajplats 17 (berth 17) at 3pm to take you to the venue. There will be organised transport from venue at the end of the night to take you back to central Stockholm (we will reach out closer to the summer to ask your preference), or you can order a taxi.

What if I need to leave early?
We want to party with you all night, but we understand if you might need to leave early. Unless you are driving, the best way to get back home is to order a taxi using Uber or Taxi Stockholm app

What if I’m driving?

There is a very small parking space by the venue, if you need to use this, please let Kim know in advance

What is the address of the venue?
Ekensdal, Skurusundsvägen 151, 131 46 Nacka, Sweden

There is no strict dress code, please wear something that makes you feel fabulous and comfortable! If you do want some guidance, think summery colourful cocktail dresses for girls (if possible, refrain from wearing all black) and suits no tie for men. It would also be a good idea to bring a cardigan or jacket as evenings can be a bit chillier

The weather in Stockholm is as temperamental as in London. Check the weather forecast and bring a jumper. As we say in Sweden, det finns inget daligt vader, bara daliga klader (there is no bad weather, only bad choice of clothing). But please cross your fingers for sun!

We want you to let your hair down and get your party shoes on so, if possible, we ask that you leave the kids at home. Any issues just give us a shout!

Please take lots of pictures! But not during the ceremony

We aren’t expecting any gifts and are just over the moon to celebrate our day with you. But for those determined gift givers amongst you, we would love a contribution to our honeymoon fund. We’re planning an exciting adventure to Japan and Philippines.

In the lead up to the wedding you can reach out to us, but when it gets closer to the big day, please reach out to your nominated team leader

If you want to add something to the day, e.g. a speech, please reach out to our toast master

RSVP

Please let us know if you are able to make it by end of March.
